"An Arsaga’s coffee shop will open in the new School of Art’s building. This area will be part of the Cultural Arts Corridor. This project was a collaboration with Design, Ceramics and Fabrication students. Both groups were in conversation to manifest our vision of the space. We collaborated with our classmates to inspire each others’ design systems —we shared resources and ideas that echo the history of the space and the brand." We met with the owners to get a sense of what their vision was for the coffee shop in order to start creating something that felt cohesive with their identity, but also special to the school of art. Our group decided to focus heavily on the idea of connecting every facet of the community from the arts, to small businesses, to the University of Arkansas. Our concept is Woven. We believe this idea truly captures this idea of connectivity and togetherness both visually and metaphorically. We created several marks that bring together these ideas and created a color palette that held true to the warmth and organic nature of Arsaga's original branding.
